Although the city boasts a wealth of historic and cultural treasures, preserved almost intact through the centuries, it is still comparatively undiscovered and remains less popular in comparison to other Italian cities. It has a lovely Duomo and a number of Ducal Palaces, which are a definite must-see when in the city. Ferrara will keep you busy and on the track of sightseeing, especially if you are fan of history. Although most of the palaces' sumptuous furnishings were robbed long ago and the paintings carted away, the beautiful frescoes and the halls are still worth a visit.
